BPS Wishes Happy Retirement To K9 Buck
The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is wishing a happy retirement to K9 Buck, saying that the dog “will go on to enjoy his retirement years with a very loving local family.”
The BPS posted the photos below online, saying, “Happy retirement K9 Buck!
“K9 Buck came to the Bermuda Police Service in September 2013 from North Carolina as an adolescent 18-month-old. After progressing and successfully getting through the K9 course in North Carolina, he became the trusty and loyal sidekick of K9 handler, PC Helen McHugh. The duo instantly formed a unbreakable bond.
“K9 Buck is a dual purpose dog, who specializes in the detection of drugs and firearms, tracking and patrol.
“He and PC McHugh have been involved in many successful law enforcement operations, including joint operations with the Customs Department. K9 Buck has attended and performed police demonstrations at many schools throughout his career. PC McHugh found him to be a popular K9 with the children due to his character and approachable manner.
“K9 Buck, now 9 and a half years old, will go on to enjoy his retirement years with a very loving local family.”
