Golf: Oliver Betschart Competes In Miami
Oliver Betschart recently competed at the Optimist International Junior World Championship at Trump Doral Blue Monster course in Miami, Florida.
A spokesperson said, “Oliver competed this weekend at the Optimist International Junior World Championship at Trump Doral Blue Monster course in Miami, with participants from South America, North America, the Caribbean, and even as far away as Thailand.
“In an international field of 77 kids in the 12-13 year age group, Oliver shot a 78, 78, 80 [236] to finish 20th overall. Congratulations to the winner Franco Fernadez of Paraguay, who shot and impressive 70, 72, 73 [215].”
Oliver Betschart said, “A great tournament, well organized, made lots of new friends, and very competitive. Special thanks to professional golfers Camiko Smith [Bermuda/USA] and Kurtis Luedtke [S.C. USA], who mentor me and took time out to support me over this tournament. Also the BGA who helped make this possible.”
The spokesperson said, “Oliver will be competing in the U.S. Kids World Championship at Pinehurst, N.C. at the end of the month.”
