Special Olympics Bermuda Highlights 5 Athletes

Special Olympics Bermuda recently highlighted their athletes, with tennis player Bridget Marshall, equestrian Eden Woollery, tennis player Micah Lambert, Athlete Leader Danielle Gibbons, and bowler Wayne Smith sharing the spotlight.

Special Olympics Bermuda posted graphics online, saying, “Welcome to the first of our weekly ‘Meet Our Athletes’ series.

“Each week we will introduce you to one of our talented and dedicated athletes and share a bit of their world with you.

“This week, meet tennis player, Bridget Marshall. Bridget competed in the quadrennial Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 [4th - Singles Level 4 Division -Tennis] and most recently qualified to represent Bermuda in the 2022 USA Summer Games in Orlando, Florida.

“This week, meet equestrian, Eden Woollery. Eden competed in the quadrennial Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 claiming the silver medal in Level CS English Working Trials. Eden will be joining last week’s featured athlete, Bridget Marshall [tennis], at the 2022 USA Summer Games in Orlando, Florida.

“This week, meet tennis player, Micah Lambert. Micah competed in the quadrennial Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 [4th - Singles Level 5 Division -Tennis] and will be joining our two previously featured athletes, Bridget Marshall [Tennis] and Eden Woollery [Equestrian], at the 2022 USA Summer Games in Orlando, Florida. Micah also recently graduated from Berkeley Institute. Congratulations Micah!

“This week, meet Athlete Leader, Danielle Gibbons. Danielle competed in the quadrennial Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 [200m – 6th and 100m 4th] and will be joining our previously featured athletes, Bridget Marshall [Tennis], Eden Woollery [Equestrian] and Micah Lambert [Tennis], at the 2022 USA Summer Games in Orlando, Florida. Danielle is a part of the 2022 Summer Games Athlete Input Council representing the Caribbean area.

“This week, meet Wayne. Wayne competed in the quadrennial Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 placing 5th in Bowling. Wayne is an energetic, lively and animated part of the Special Olympics family and continues to train in Bowling with hopes of qualifying for the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany.
