Video: Rotary Donates To Friends Of Hospice
The Hamilton Rotary Club announced the club — through the fundraising efforts of long time Director and Rotarian Joy Lusher –has facilitated the presentation of a $5,000 donation to Friends of Hospice to support the building fund for the proposed new Agape House facility.
Mrs. Lusher, who celebrated her 90th birthday on the night of the presentation, raised the funds by hosting a series of dinners at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club.
The cheque was accepted by Jane Bermingham, a representative of Friends of Hospice. Mrs. Bermingham spoke of the difficulty of raising funds during the Covid Pandemic and thanked Mrs. Lusher, a recipient of the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship, for the work she has been doing to raise funds over several years.
Outgoing HRC President Graeme Henderson and President-elect Jean Akol commended Mrs. Lusher for really living out the Rotary creed of ‘Service before Self.’
