Ball Hockey: Beer Barons & Pistols Win

The Bermuda Inline Ball Hockey Summer League season resumed at the PCC Hockey Rink with a double-header that saw a total of 25 goals scored.

Hamilton Hurricanes 5 Boaz Island Beer Barons 6

This entertaining opener saw the need for an overtime goal to decide a winner, as the Boaz Island Beer Barons edged the Hamilton Hurricanes 6 – 5.

The Boaz Island Beer Barons took the first period lead when Hart Freedman scored, but the Hamilton Hurricanes drew level when Scott Shannon found the back of the net. Brandon Willett, and Kris Abramowski scored to give the Boaz Island Beer Barons a 3 – 1 lead at the break.

Chris Grantier scored twice in the second period to draw the Hamilton Hurricanes level at 3 – 3, with one period to play.

Abramowski put the Boaz Island Beer Barons ahead early in the third period, but goals off the sticks of Tyson Barnett, and Josh Bush gave the Hamilton Hurricanes a 5 – 4 lead, however, the Boaz Island Beer Barons would level the score at 5 – 5 when Matt Mcphail scored.

In the overtime period, Jeffrey Ingelman found the back of the net from a penalty shot to earn the Boaz Island Beer Barons the win.

Pembroke Pirates 5 Paget Pistols 9

The nightcap saw the Paget Pistols defeat the Pembroke Pirates 9 – 5.

Marcel Bouwens led the Paget Pistols to victory with 4 goals, Cam Poland added 2 goals, with Bill Calko, Wyatt Woloshyn, and Mike Travis all adding a goal each.

Robert Osborne, and Pete Brodsky, both scored 2 goals each for the Paget Pistols, with Matt Katzsch adding the other.
