A spokesperson said, “It is with great pleasure that the Bermuda Nurses Association announce this year’s recipients of the Iris Davis Educational Scholarship Award. This is a special award for the year 2021 as the BNA is offering scholarships in partnership with the Chubb Charitable Foundation.
“We are truly grateful for the generous donation and collaboration with Chubb Charitable Foundation, which has made it possible to award five nursing scholarships this year.
“The scholarship is awarded to undergraduates pursuing a degree in nursing and Registered Nurses who take on the challenge to advance their education to a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree.
“The scholarship is named after a trailblazer in Bermuda’s nursing history, Ms Iris Davis. She was a dedicated nurse and midwife who worked hard to achieve her goals within the nursing profession, putting the patient first. Nurses are the heart of healthcare, and the Bermuda Nurses Association believes in the power of education and training to achieve high standards as a professional nurse.
“There is a need for more nurses locally and globally to provide care and achieve health and wellness for everyone. The journey of continuing education can be challenging, and the BNA would like to commend each recipient for their perseverance and dedication.
