Govt: Bus Service ‘Resumed Normal Operations’
[Updated] The bus service has “resumed normal operations this morning,” the Government said today [Aug 20].
“The Department of Transportation has confirmed that the bus service has resumed normal operations this morning,” a spokesperson said.
The bus service had been suspended since Monday due to a labour dispute.
Update 10.28am: A BPSU spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Public Services Union met late yesterday afternoon [Thursday, 19th August 2021] with the Bermuda Industrial Union, subsequent to the Supervisors being summons to a meeting with DPT upper management. It is apparent the matter of the bus rosters will require continued dialogue with the Minister.
“The BPSU is committed to working alongside our sister union for the betterment of the service. DPT Supervisors remain on post and will continue to ensure dispatch is readily available for operation.”
The bus service has “resumed normal operations this morning,” at what cost to the taxpayers?
I wonder what “normal operations” even means there has been nothing “normal” around here for a long time.
Normal? Which normal is that? A full timetable, with on time buses.
Or the new normal of bus cancellations, surly drivers and lottery of whether or not the bus actually turns up. The PLP/BIU normal of sh*t service.
Normal???? whose normal we the public or the bus depot normal of x amount of cancelations etc
Get rid of Furbert now
