The one way portion of Canal Road “has been closed due to wall erosion in the area of the tunnel, making it a potential danger,” the police advised this morning.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public, that the one way portion of Canal Road has been closed due to wall erosion in the area of the tunnel, making it a potential danger for motorists and pedestrians to pass through.

“We are asking that the public avoid the Canal Road tunnel area and use alternative routes until it is deemed safe to reopen this portion of the road.”

A live map showing road closures, road works, detours, etc, would be so valuable. Fingers crossed the giant speed bumps BELCO placed, which have recently been removed, are replaced with more reasonable speed control measures or left as it is. Wild how Cemetery Road was closed for years, reopens and we’re greeted with the largest speed bumps ever. There’s another one near Laffan Street as well. Rant over.
