CPAD Getting Set To Celebrate Its Tenth Year
CP Athletic Development Academy [CPAD] is getting set to celebrate its 10th anniversary, with registration is currently open for the Bermuda Academy tryouts, which will be held on Sunday, September 19th.
A spokesperson said, “CP Athletic Development Academy is gearing up to celebrate our 10th anniversary and registration is now open for the 2021-22 membership year.
“The Academy was formed in 2012 to introduce the sport of futsal to athletes and use the sport to enhance the technical development of football players. Futsal is an indoor game, with similarities to the game of football. The rules differ for this fast-paced sport, as do the equipment and the skills required to master the game, and. Futsal is credited by some of the world’s most famous footballers as having made a significant contribution their success.
“Notable examples are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Their endorsement of the sport has created a global awareness and understanding of futsal. Our organization has dedicated efforts over the past 10 years to being the forerunner in growing the sport in Bermuda and across the globe. In addition to our Youth Academy, we also manage several technical skills development programs for schools and football clubs.
“The Academy has supported the development of hundreds of players over the years, supplementing their progression as athletes. Key highlights include;
- Six annual journeys to the World Futsal Championships. The teams were progressively successful, culminating in a Silver Division Championship
- Two visits to the New England Revolution tournament, earning a spot in the finals
- Fifteen coaches certified at Level 1 Futsal Instructor Certification with several also completing Level 2 Certification
- Numerous International partnerships across the US, UK, & Europe
- Hosting the inaugural Atlantic Futsal Conference at home in Bermuda with an outstanding line-up of keynote speakers. Included in the line-up were the Head Coaches of the Portugal and Finland national teams. The former being the European Futsal Champions!
“Our UK division, CP Sports Group, has grown very quickly. The UK office supports the athlete’s next steps by providing services for:
- Boarding school selection
- Guardianship and Term Break Homestay
- Football Agency [with Registered Intermediary & Scouts on staff]
- Performance Coaching
“We are the official Agent for several UK and Spanish boarding schools. The UK based team have visited the campuses and take care in finding options that are suitable for the students’ objectives. Relationships have been established with the teachers, administrators and coaches to assist the team in determining the best fit.
