Video: BNV Interview With Flora Duffy
Bernews is excited to announce that Olympic gold medalist Flora Duffy is joining us this evening [Aug 2] for the latest episode in the Bernews News & Views series.
Ms Duffy caused the island to erupt in celebration a week ago when she recorded a dominant win in the Olympic triathlon, winning the first ever Gold Olympic medal for Bermuda, and the second medal ever, following after Clarence Hill’s bronze medal win in the 1976 Olympics.
She not only won the Gold, but did it in top style, finishing more than one minute ahead of the silver medalist, with her victory making Bermuda the smallest nation or territory in the world to ever win a gold Olympic medal at the summer games.
Since her historic win — which caused her to trend in the top 10 on Twitter and rank among the highest on Google trends as numerous people worldwide were searching her name — Ms Duffy has been interviewed by many major international news media, with outlets ranging from CNN, ESPN and Sportsmax running feature articles on her, with the world eager to learn more about the new Olympic champion.
The interview will be co-hosted by veteran journalist Don Burgess and Olympian Katura Horton-Perinchief and should start around 9pm [Bermuda time], or just a bit after.
The live stream should start at around 9pm/9.15pm:
Congratulations Flora!!
We love you Flora
Thank you and congratulations!
