Somersfield Students Receive Full IB Diploma
The first cohort of IB Diploma students from Somersfield Academy were all successfully awarded the full IB Diploma.
A spokesperson said, “Somersfield Academy has announced that their first cohort of IB Diploma students were all successfully awarded the full IB Diploma.
“This 100% pass rate far exceeds the 89% global pass rate for the May 2021 session. Furthermore, the average total point score also placed their students above world average, with 80% of the Somersfield Academy 2021 graduates achieving the world average or better.
“The highest individual score was 43 [out of a possible 45], and all of the graduates will be attending their first choice institute of higher education in the UK, Canada and the US.”
Outgoing Principal, Carlos Symonds, said, “It has been an exceptionally challenging two years for both the students and staff, but the students and team of teachers commendably rose to and overcame the hurdles, distractions and adversities.
“We congratulate our inaugural DP Class of 2021 on their stellar results and wish them continued success along their individual journeys. They have been forged in fire and are prepared to follow their stars!”
