SiriusPoint Appoints Brenden As Chief Actuary
SiriusPoint Ltd. has announced that Justin Brenden has been appointed to the role of Chief Actuary, subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
A spokesperson said, “As Chief Actuary, Mr. Brenden will lead SiriusPoint’s actuarial organization, with responsibility for global reserving and aligning pricing to drive to the Company’s objective of improving underwriting profitability. He will be based in Bermuda and report to SiriusPoint Chief Financial Officer, David Junius.
“Prior to the merger between Third Point Re and Sirius Group, Mr. Brenden served as EVP, Chief Reserving Actuary at Third Point Re. He joined Third Point Re in its first year of operations and played a significant role in the growth and development of the company. Mr. Brenden began his career as an actuarial consultant at Ernst & Young where he primarily served the reinsurance industry.”

Mr. Brenden holds a BBA in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a regular speaker at industry events and has held numerous leadership roles for industry professional organizations, including serving a recent term as Vice President for the Casualty Actuarial Society.
He was elected in 2021 to serve on the Board of Directors of the Casualty Actuarial Society, of which is also a Fellow [FCAS]. Additionally, Mr. Brenden is a Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries [FIA], a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter [CPCU] and the co-author of a current textbook for the CAS actuarial exams.
Mr. Brenden and his wife moved to Bermuda in 2012 and they have two children that were born on the island.
