“The gold letterbox, dubbed the ‘Duffy Mailbox’, has been decorated with love by members of the Hamilton Princess team and is on display by the Concierge desk in the hotel’s lobby.
“Messages can be dropped off at any time and will be hand delivered to Flora before her departure from the island. For those younger Flora fans, there are letter templates available by the dropbox that can be filled out with handily available crayons and pens. Letters must be dropped off by the end of day on October 20th.
Flora Duffy said, “I have had so many lovely messages from people in Bermuda asking how they could get in touch and I’m so delighted that Hamilton Princess & Beach Club has created a special mailbox to make that possible! Returning to Bermuda yesterday, I’m reminded this means so much to everyone on the island, but especially the little ones, the heroes of tomorrow.
“This is one small way kids, and anyone who wants to drop off a note, can participate in the celebrations. There were so many awesome signs on the streets yesterday! I’m not the best at getting back to everyone, but I read everything, and if you drop of something, I’d love and appreciate that.”
Tim Morrison, General Manager of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said, “Like everyone else, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is still riding high after watching Flora Duffy’s amazing performance in Tokyo. We know that Flora’s win means a lot to Bermudians and that many would like the opportunity to share a message of excitement or support with her.
“As such, we are pleased to be able to arrange this letter box service for her and to ensure that she receives everyone’s well wishes.”
