Regiment Blank Firing Exercise This Weekend
Soldiers from the Royal Bermuda Regiment [RBR] will carry out a blank firing exercise this weekend.
A spokesperson said, “The RBR’s newest soldiers will be out in the field at Hog Bay Park in Sandys on Saturday and Sunday to build on the basic soldiering skills they were taught in this summer’s Recruit Camp. This exercise will involve the firing of blank ammunition and the use of pyrotechnics such as flares.”
The spokesperson added that “people in the area could expect to be hear weapons firing and they should not be alarmed.
“Warning signs will be posted at the park entrance during the exercise. There will be no restriction on access to the park, although the public are asked to stay well clear of any soldiers on the exercise.”
