Trio Attain Impressive Results In UK Swim Meets
Three Harbour swimmers Giada Dudley-Pun, Finn Moseley, and Sam Williamson were in action swimming in the first short course meet of the season at the Lindsay Powell Memorial Meet held at the Plymouth Life Centre in Plymouth, England.
The meet was the first opportunity to post-qualification times for the main event of the short course season – the Swim England Winter Nationals which take place in Sheffield in December.
Dudley-Pun swimming for Mount Kelly School in the girls 15-year age group, posted an impressive 5 out of 5 personal best swims.
Dudley-Pun finished 5th in the 100m freestyle clocking a time of 59.98, during the 200m freestyle Dudley-Pun finished 5th touching the wall in a time of 2:09.49. Dudley-Pun finished 2nd during the 50 butterfly with a time of 29.53, she then finished 4th competing in the 100m butterfly touching the wall in a time of 1:05.97, and in the 200m individual medley, Dudley-Pun finished 9th clocking a time of 2:28.35.
Moseley swimming for Plymouth Leander in the boys 17 & over age group posted 3 out of 7 personal best swims including 3 qualifying times during those 3 personal best for the Swim England Winter National Meet.
The first personal best and the qualifying mark came in the 50m freestyle came when he finished 10th clocking a time of 23.92. During the 100m individual medley, Moseley finished 12th clocking a time of 1:00.75, which was a personal best and a qualifying standard.
In the 100m butterfly, Moseley finished 13th with a time of 59.14, he then finished 12th during the 50m backstroke clocking 28.52, and then Moseley finished 18th in the 50m butterfly clocking a time of 26.78.
Moseley met the qualifying standard finishing 6th, during the 100m freestyle with a personal best time of 51.80, and then he finished 13th clocking 1:03.50 during the 100m backstroke.
Williamson also representing Mount Kelly School and swimming in the boys 17 & over age group swam 5 out of 7 personal best times and gained 7 qualifying times for the Swim England Winter National Meet.
Williamson was on the podium in three events, he finished 6th competing in the 200m freestyle clocking 1:53.78, which was not a personal best, nor was it a qualifier, he then finished 4th competing in the 100 individual medley with a time of 56.68.
Williamson would stand on the podium capturing a bronze medal during the 400m freestyle clocking a time of 4:04.20, and then in the 200m individual medley, Williamson finished 2nd clocking a time of 2:06.69.
A time of 4:31.44 saw Williamson finish 2nd in the 400m individual medley, he then missed a personal best and a qualification mark finishing 9th clocking a time of 1:05.17 competing in the 100m Breaststroke, Williamson would close out with a time of 2:10.74 competing in the 200m butterfly finishing 4th.
