Appleby Makes Holiday Donation To STAR
Appleby’s Bermuda office delivered holiday donations to local charity STAR [Supportive Therapy for Aids Persons and their Relatives]. This marks Appleby’s 23rd year supporting STAR families during the holiday season.
Appleby participates annually in STAR’s Christmas Donation Drive by supporting six families with holiday food hampers, fruit baskets, gifts and vouchers.
Tim Faries, Bermuda Managing Partner said, “STAR has been doing important work in the community for over 30 years. We hope our support each year helps to make Christmas a special time for our six STAR families. We wish all the families the very best during the holiday season and in the new year. Thank you to our staff and partners for their generous donations.”
The company explained, “STAR has been providing comprehensive support to persons with HIV and their families since 1986. STAR’s work in the Bermuda community has benefited more than 170 people at its Lighthouse facility, which aims to provide a family environment for residents, including men, women and children.
“In addition, STAR offers support throughout the island to persons living with HIV by way of confidential counselling and personal caregivers visiting homes, the hospital and hospices.”
