Trench Work To Be ‘Deferred To After Holidays’
The Ministry of Public Works advised that the BELCO trenching project on Middle Road in Smiths and Southampton “will be deferred until after the holidays.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that the ongoing BELCO trenching project on Middle Road in Smith’s parish will be deferred until after the Holidays. It will resume with a one-lane closure on Tuesday January 4th, 2022 and continue to head east towards Harrington Sound Road to the BELCO substation.
“Working hours in the New Year will be from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm daily. Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO representative and will be managed through traffic control signals and detour signs.
“The Ministry of Public Works would like to thank the public for their ongoing cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.

“Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO representatives and will be managed through traffic control signage.
