Weekend Change For Bus Route 8 In Warwick

December 10, 2021

The Department of Public Transportation [DPT] advised of a change in bus route 8 this weekend, December 10, 11 and 12, “due to road widening on Middle Road, Warwick east of Burnt House Hill.”

A Government spokesperson said, “All route 8 buses travelling west will detour left onto Cobb’s Hill Road, turn right onto South Road and rejoin the regular route at Barnes Corner. East travelling route 8 buses will use the same detours but in reverse.

“There will be two shuttles on either side of the road closure to provide service for the areas from Barnes Corner to Burnt House Hill and from Tamarind Vale Road to Cobb’s Hill Road. The eastern shuttle bus will travel west on Middle Road then complete a u-turn past the Tamarind Vale Road closure.

“It will then travel east on Middle Road, turn right onto Cobb’s Hill, right onto Ord Road and reposition at the Ord Road bus turnaround. It will travel east on Ord Road, take a left onto Cobb’s Hill Road, then left onto Middle Road, which completes the loop.

“Cedar Hill will be serviced once an hour between 7:45 am and 6:45 pm on Saturday and between 9:45 am and 6:45 pm on Sunday.

“The western public bus shuttle loop will travel west on Middle Road from Burnt House Hill to Barnes Corner. It will take a left at the intersection of Middle and South Roads, a left at Church Road and a right-back onto Middle Road. It will travel east to the turnaround just beyond the road closure barricade near St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

“Both shuttle buses will take 15 minutes to complete one leg of their loop and provide service on the circular route from 6:45 am to 11:45 pm.”
