Virtual Butterfield & Vallis 5K On January 23
The 2022 Butterfield & Vallis 5K road race will be held virtually on Sunday, January 23.
A spokesperson said, “Plans were well underway for the 2022 Butterfield & Vallis 5K with a large group exemption being granted by Government for 500 participants. Unfortunately, with the rise in Covid cases and the stipulation that all participants would have to produce a negative test on the day of the event, the decision has been made to go virtual again this year.
“We are encouraging residents to sign up at www.racedayworld.com and walk or run the trails, track, road, neighbourhood, or even the treadmill but to stay within their safe bubble. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club’s Junior Programme.
“Drive-through shirt and goodie bag collection is on Saturday, January 22nd at Butterfield & Vallis on Woodlands Road from 10am to 1pm. Masks and hand sanitizer are required and participants are urged to stay in their cars. The first 500 participants at packet pick-up will receive a goodie bag filled with products plus this year’s bright coral dri-fit shirt is bound to be a hot ticket item.
“Draw prizes include a Trek pedal bike from Winners Edge, 2 Garmins courtesy of BF&M, 2 – $100 Sportseller vouchers and 3 BF&M sports duffle bags.
“Prizes will be drawn on Monday, January 24th. This event is supported by MAAC [Mid Atlantic Athletic Club]. For further information, please contact Terri Durrant tdurrant@bv.bm or Peter Tobin PWTobin@bv.bm.”
