49,201 Registered Road Vehicles In 2020
In 2020 there were a total of 49,201 registered road vehicles, which included 22,515 private cars, 3,806 trucks, 558 taxis, 238 Government private [GP] vehicles, 24 farm tractors as well as 295 buses, mini-buses & limousines.
This is according to the recently released 2021 Environmental Statistics Compendium, which noted that “private cars accounted for nearly half [45.8%] of this total, while just over one-third [36.7%] were motorcycles and scooters.”
There were also 477 vehicles classified as ‘other’– an increase from the 299 ‘other’ in 2016 — which the report said includes “classic cars, community service vehicles, doctors’ cars, garbage trucks, hearses, instructional vehicles, loaner vehicles, locomotives, police utility vehicles, public carriages and sporting associations.”
