Basketball League: Young Goatz & Reapers Win
The Bermuda Basketball Association’s Island Basketball League continued inside the CedarBridge Academy Gymnasium with a double-header that produced 249 points in the two matches.
In the opener, the Splash Brothers went down to the Young Goatz 58 – 50. Darae Smith led the Young Goatz to victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while his teammate Dion Easton had 8 points and 16 rebounds. John Lee led the Splash Brothers with 20 points, and 16 rebounds, while Jason Lowe had 18 points and 9 rebounds.
In the nightcap, the Reapers defeated Franchise 90 – 51, Jason Gonsalves scored 28 points for the Reapers, who also got 26 points, 24 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots from Gershon Kurt. Kevin Minors had 17 points for Franchise, who also got 12 points from Sheldon Bahadosingh.
