February 1, 2022

The Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust [ETE] announced its partnership with Convex Group Limited, with Convex set to become ETE’s new title sponsor for the upcoming 2022 charitable event, now titled Convex End-to-End.

A spokesperson said, “Marking the 35th anniversary of Bermuda’s most successful fundraising event, Convex End-to-End will take place on Saturday, May 7th. A full event is planned and will commence at St. Georges at 7am for walkers and 9am for cyclists. The Middle-to-End cycle starts at 8:30am from the Botanical Garden with the Middle-to-End walkers leaving at 10am. The Fun Walk starts at 2pm from Beacon Hill Road at the Railway Trail. The Finish Line is in front of the Clocktower Mall in the Royal Naval Dockyard.”

Anne Mello, chair of the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust stated: “We are more than delighted to welcome our new event title sponsor, Convex. Their thoughtful and enthusiastic interest is just what we need for the next three years. We are excited about our 35th anniversary and the return of a full event complete with a start, a finish and festivities along the route.

“Operating since 1987, ETE has a deep understanding of local concerns and the organizations who work to effect needed change. We exceeded over six million dollars in giving to Bermuda’s not-for-profit community last year. This year, through the vitality of both the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust and Convex, we hope to attract an even larger number of participants to join us on event day.”

Stephen Catlin, chairman and chief executive of Convex said: “It is a tremendous privilege to contribute to and support this island-wide event as title sponsors, and we are thrilled to be partnering with the Bermuda End-to End Charitable Trust, who for the past 35 years have organised a truly extraordinary and enjoyable fundraising event.

“The Convex End-to-End is a great occasion for the whole island to come together and raise essential funds for local charities, and allows us to demonstrate Convex’s enduring commitment to Bermuda, its causes and the wider community.”

A spokesperson added, “Commemorating 35 years of its use, the Convex End-to-End will feature a project to enhance the Railway Trail. It will mark the third time that Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust will have donated to the trail.

“Past contributions included a major project in which the ETE brought the well-known Rails-to-Trails Conservancy to Bermuda to conduct public consultations with the Bermuda Parks Department on possibilities for the evolution of the Railway Trail as a linear park linking parts of Bermuda.

“This input helped form the Government’s ongoing management plans for the trail. In previous years, the ETE assisted in providing new signs along the trail both for distance markers and points of interest. Finally, the ETE provided upgraded benches along popular segments of the trail.”
