New Field Hockey Coach: Kovin Moodley
The Bermuda Hockey Federation has introduced their new coach, Kovin Moodley.
A spokesperson said, “Kovin hails from South Africa and brings with him a tremendous passion for field hockey along with a proven record in coaching. He is an FIH Level 2 Hockey Coach and a Technical Director for SportWays, a Dutch company – the oldest and largest organizers of hockey camps.
“Kovin believes that the best coaching comes from staying current and he is an active player with KZN Men’s Provincial hockey team. He left the position of Director of Sport at Penzance Primary School to join us here to lead the Bermuda National men’s and women’s hockey teams in the upcoming CAC Qualifier tournaments, to be held over the Easter weekend.
“Developing younger players is a huge focus in his coaching activities as Head of Northwood Crusaders Youth Flux Program and Kovin also looks forward to inspiring the island’s youth players while he is here by getting involved with our current Funstix programme and giving us plans to increase youth development for the future of our sport.”
Mr Moodley said, “I’m really excited to be involved with the Bermuda Hockey program and looking forward to competing at the CAC qualifiers.”
The spokesperson said, “For more information on the CAC Qaulifier tournament, email bhf_cac_qualifier@bermudafieldhockey.com. Follow us or send a message on social media @bdahockey or visit the website.”
