Man In ICU After Stabbing & Couple Assaulted

A 35-year-old man is in the ICU after being stabbed, and in a separate incident a 59-year-old woman was “struck in the face by a male suspect who was also reported to have thrown a brick through a front door glass at the residence” and her husband was subsequently attacked the following day.

A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, 16th February 2022, Police received a report of a thirty-five-year old male in need of medical attention in the carpark of the Victor Scott Primary School, Glebe Road Pembroke.

“Upon the arrival of officers, it was discovered the male had suffered a stab wound to the back and a laceration to the head.

“The suspect was attended to at the scene by EMTs and subsequently transported via ambulance to King Edward Hospital for further treatment to his injuries, which were described as potentially life threatening.

“At last check, he was listed in stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

“Officers from the Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating this matter. We are asking for witnesses to this incident to come forward who may know something of what happened. It is believed the stabbing occurred on South Terrace, directly behind Victor Scott School. Detective Sergeant Clifford Roberts is the officer dealing & can be contacted on 717-0590 or 247-1376.

Brick Thrown, Woman Assaulted, Husband Also Assaulted

“Around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday 16th February, 2022 police attended a Peacock Crescent, Sandys Parish residence following a report of an altercation in which a fifty-nine-year old woman was allegedly struck in the face by a male suspect who was also reported to have thrown a brick through a front door glass at the residence.

“Officers recorded a statement from the victim and left to continue enquiries after ensuring she was alright.

“However, police were called back to the residence shortly after 1:00 a.m. today, Thursday, 17th February, after receiving a report that the victim’s husband was leaving for work, when he was set upon by an unknown individual, dressed in all black. He reportedly suffered a cut to the head during the incident.

“The fifty-six-year-old female attempted to assist her husband but was attacked by another individual and sustained an injury to her mouth.

“The couple were attended to at the Port Royal Fire Station for their injuries, the extent of which were unknown. They were then transported via ambulance to King Edward Hospital for further treatment.
