Public Works Minister David Burch Back At Work

February 28, 2022

Premier David Burt confirmed that Minister of Public Works Lt/Col David Burch has returned to work.

Premier David Burt: “I am pleased that Minister Burch is back at his desk and I look forward to working with him as we deliver on our Throne Speech and Platform promises. The Ministry of Public Works plays a critical role in the economic recovery plan and having the substantive Minister back is most welcomed.

“I must also thank Minister Wayne Furbert who assumed the responsibility for Public Works in Minister Burch’s absence. Minister Furbert tackled the role energetically and worked with the team in the ministry through critical periods on the Tynes Bay plan for refurbishment.

“I must also recognize those public officers in the Ministry who provided seamless and dedicated support to the Acting Minister and the Government during this period. The whole team has worked well.”

  2. Good to hear! says:

Glad you are back and feeling better. Now could you please sort of few of your colleagues, I think they could use your wisdom!

  3. Of course, I am happy to hear the colonel is well enough to work again, but let’s not forget that in the real world, which means anywhere else on this planet, any responsible government of the taxpayer’s purse… especially in light of the dire fiscal situation Bermuda is in thanks to the plp, would have suspended all pay to the elected official who could not fulfil their duties..
Any bets that was not the case?

  4. comfortably numb says:

‘The whole team has worked well’ Did the emperor say that with a straight face? Nothing and nobody is working well in this disaster of a government.

    Oh great.

I had to stifle of laugh… “central to our economic recovery plan…” this prick was responsible for the anti business rhetoric, and anti foreigner rhetoric that was central to the decline of the economy while he was following the great educator around with her handbag.

Give me a break, this guy is a bad tempered dinosaur who has an ill deserved reputation for getting things done.

Is this the great well of talent in the PLP?

Oh crap, the man that just wont go away.

  7. Observer says:

Welcome back minister, now perhaps you can explain to us all how road repairs/improvements on Harbour Road managed to blatantly encroach onto private land without any thought that the land might actually belong to someone.

  8. Question says:

Trash is now picked up on random days if if it’s picked up at all, the island is overrun with rats, and the roads are falling to pieces.
