“Restaurant Weeks was created eleven years ago to celebrate Bermuda’s restaurant industry, create exciting food culture experiences and amp up restaurant revenues during the pre-Spring slump. First-time participating venue, Thyme Restaurant has seen a significant boost in bookings since the launch of Restaurant Weeks.”

Thyme owner and Executive Chef, Shannon Simons said, “Restaurant Weeks has been a blessing to our business this Winter. Our bookings have surged, and we have seen sold-out weekends. Our regulars and first-time patrons have raved about the special Bermuda-inspired offers. So, news that the SafeKey requirement has been lifted at the same time Restaurant Weeks has been extended is exciting news for the Thyme team and our guests.”

The spokesperson said, “Thyme Restaurant has added a special wine-tasting add-on to the Restaurant Weeks menu for the Valentine’s Day weekend.”

Charles H. Jeffers II, CEO Bermuda Tourism Authority, said, “The easing of restaurant entry restrictions is great news for tourism. The restaurant sector is a key part of our tourism product, and this will give the industry a much-needed jolt to jumpstart the recovery for 2022. We will continue to market on-island experiences such as Restaurant Weeks and invite both visitors and locals to explore the inventive Bermuda-themed menus and enjoy the island’s famed hospitality.”

The spokesperson said, “Local engagement is a key pillar of the Bermuda National Tourism Plan and the Restaurant Weeks campaign is an opportunity for locals to experience more local dining venues empowering them with first-hand knowledge of the local restaurant scene to share with visitors.

“Forty restaurants signed on for the 2022 Bermuda Restaurant Weeks campaign and most [35] will continue to offer the special prix-fixe menus until the end of February. The restaurants will offer multicourse lunch menus at $22 or dinner menus ranging from $32- $52 per person.

“Participating restaurants and menu details are available on the Bermuda Tourism Authority website.

“The Bermuda Tourism Authority is encouraging Restaurant Weeks patrons to capture images of their Restaurant Weeks meal or the restaurant rockstars to share on their personal social media pages, with the hashtag #BermudaRW. Each week the BTA team will choose a winner and give a Restaurant Week meal voucher of the same value of the one purchased.”
