Football: BFA Launch ‘One Team’ Initiative
The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] announced the One Team Initiative, which aims to “increase the awareness and importance of safe driving and non- violence.”
A spokesperson said, “The BFA first displayed a new banner for this initiative, on Sunday, March 20, at the North Village vs Somerset CC match at Bernard Park. It was then displayed at the BAA vs Paget match on Monday, March 21, and PHC vs Southampton Rangers, on Tuesday, March 21.
“The One Team Initiative aims to increase the awareness and importance of safe driving and non- violence. It recognizes that the community must act as “One Team” and come together to reduce the reckless driving on Bermuda roads and the senseless violence that continues to plague our communities.”
“Football has been impacted with the loss of players to road traffic accidents and violence,” said President Mark Wade. “Our clubs will continue to do what they can to help. It is important for the entire community to mobilize to address these two important issues in Bermuda. This is a call to all of Bermuda to get on the road safety and anti-violence team”
“The One Team banners that promote safe driving and anti-violence will be displayed at all senior football matches through to the end of the season.”
