Carifta Games: Track & Field Day One Results

The 2022 Carifta Games track and field event got underway in Jamaica, with Bermuda athletes winning one medal and making multiple appearances in the finals.

Finals

Caitlyn Bobb captured Bermuda’s first 2022 Carifta Games medal when she finished 3rd in the Under 20 400m clocking a time of 53.12 to win a bronze medal.

During the Under 17 400m, S’Nya Cumbermatch clocked a time of 1:00.23 finishing 6th, Fenella Wightman finished 8th competing in the Under 17 1500m in a time of 4:59.98, Simeon Hayward finished 8th in the 17-19 1500m in 4:20.41, and Denver Tucker  finished 7th clocking a time of 11.06 in the  Under 17 100m.

Preliminaries

J’Naz Richards finished 7th in Heat 3 of the Under 17 100m, and unfortunately Zenji Washington was ruled out of the race after she had a false start in Heat 4.

S’Nya Cumbermatch advanced to the Under 17 400m finals after finishing 8th in the preliminaries clocking a time of 1:02.41.

J’auza James began competing in the Octathlon, during the Under 20 100m, James finished 9th with a time of 11.90, and he did not record a leap in the Under 20 Long Jump.

Caitlyn Bobb advanced to the Under 20 400m finals after clocking the fastest preliminary time of 53.95.

Denver Tucker advanced to the semi-finals of the Under 17 100m after finishing 2nd in Heat 1 with a time of 11.20, his time saw him finish 6th, while Miles Outerbridge finished 17th overall clocking 11.62.

Zakayza Parson and Keturah Bulford-Trott competed in the 17-19 100m, Parsons finished 11th with a time of 12.26, while Bulford-Trott finished 13th clocking 12.28.
