The Governor will host a reception celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Birthday and Platinum Jubilee at Government House on June 2nd, and anyone interested in attending is invited to complete an online form.

A spokesperson said, “On Thursday 2 June 2022 Her Excellency the Governor will host a reception celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Birthday and Platinum Jubilee at Government House between 6 and 8 pm.

“Anyone interested in attending the reception should complete the online form. The link to the online form will be active from noon on Monday, 11 April 2022 until 12 noon on Friday 29 April 2022 and can be found here as well as on the Government House FaceBook page.

“Following the relaxation of the public health regulations, the reception will once again be opened to general admittance. We were unable to open the Queen’s Birthday Party to the public in 2020 and 2021 due to the strict public health regulations in place at the time because of the pandemic.”

Governor Rena Lalgie said: “Government House first opened up the process for obtaining an invitation to the Queen’s Birthday Party in 2015 and this continued for the next few years due to the enthusiastic response received from those who applied for tickets and attended. My family and I are thrilled to once again be opening attendance at the Queen’s Birthday Party to the general public and very much look forward to welcoming you to Government House.

“2022 is a very special year as we will not only be celebrating Her Majesty’s 96th Birthday but we will also be marking her Platinum Jubilee representing 70 years on the throne.

“We invite those who would like to attend this year’s reception to complete the online questionnaire. Sadly, the numbers can’t be unlimited but we shall make as many of the invitations available as possible to those applying.”
