Sakari Famous Earns Athlete Of The Week
Bermuda’s Sakari Famous — who competes for the McNeese State University and recently set new school and Bermuda records in the high jump — has been named one of the Southland Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week.
The announcement said, “UIW’s Abby Gray and McNeese’s Sakari Famous are the Southland Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced.
“Famous grabbed first in the high jump with a school-record leap of 5-11.25 at the LSU Battle on the Bayou. Famous’ high jump mark ranks first in the Southland this season and ties as the fifth-best in Southland history.”
