Swimmers Win Another Seven Carifta Medals
Bermuda swimmers continued competing at the 2022 Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados, winning another seven medals last night [April 19], bringing their overall medal tally to an impressive nineteen.
Violet Smith won gold medal and Arabella Newport Derbyshire claimed a bronze medal in the 11-12 girls 200m backstroke to give Bermuda two places on the podium.
Marleigh Howes claimed the silver medal competing in the 13-14 girls 400m freestyle final touching the wall in a time of 4:47.35, while Sam Williamson won the silver medal competing in the 15-17 boys 400m freestyle final with a time of 4:16.77. Taylor White won the silver medal in the 15-17 girls 200 meter backstroke final clocking a time of 2:29.70.
White picked up the bronze medal competing in the 15-17 girls 400m freestyle final clocking a time of 4:42.05, Williamson also captured the bronze medal competing in the 15-17 boys 100m breaststroke final with a time of 1:08.05.
Elijah Daley finished 8th in the 15-17 boys 100m breaststroke final touching the wall in a time of 1:12.41. Brandon Adkins finished 5th competing in the 15-17 boys 400m freestyle clocking a time of 4:21.53.
