BUEI Kicks Off Fundraising With Silent Auction
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] is holding a silent auction in support of its education and outreach programmes.
A spokesperson said, “In the lead up to its 25th year anniversary in July, the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute kicked off its fundraising campaign with a silent auction in support of the organization’s education and outreach programmes.”
Karla Lacey, BUEI CEO, said, “As we celebrate 25 years of nurturing Bermuda’s next generation of ocean advocates, educators, and leaders, BUEI’s vision to ensure the ocean around Bermuda is widely understood, appreciated and protected remains as relevant today as it was when we first opened our doors.”
The spokesperson said, “The BUEI fundraiser features a range of 12 unique experiences, many of them deemed priceless as they were created specifically for this auction. On offer are diving adventures in Bermuda and the Caribbean, dining experiences ranging from a personalized chef’s table to an in-home cooking class party and a coffee cupping session, a VIP weekend at The Reefs, and a condo stay in Springboat Springs, Colorado. All prizes can be viewed on BUEI.bm.”
Ms. Lacey said, “The demand for BUEI’s educational programmes has more than doubled over the past year, and the continued voluntary engagement of high school and college students via our Youth Climate Summit initiative and the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Programme is extraordinary given its participant diversity.
“The positive generational impact of our work hasn’t stopped thanks to the support of BUEI members, donors and partners.”
