Special Ferry Service To SailGP Event
Sailing fans in the East End can enjoy a traffic-free journey this weekend with a non-stop ferry to the Bermuda SailGP, which will be held in the west end.
A spokesperson said, “If you live in St. George’s skip the hour-long drive toward the West End and instead hop on the island’s water taxi to transport you from Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s to the Dockyard Ferry Stop. Passengers can then catch a free ground shuttle to the Cross Island Race Village where all the festivities take place.
“The special ferry will depart St. George’s at 11:30am and will return at 6:30pm. It is a single ferry run in each direction and will be offered on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.
“There will be plenty of entertainment to keep the energy going at the Cross Island Race Village with special performances by Bermuda’s very own gombeys, Arijahknow Live Wires and the Kings Band, plus one of the island’s best – DJ Rusty G.
“Following the high-speed races on Saturday, May 14, the party continues on the water with a SailGP raft-up in Mangrove Bay in Sandy’s parish beginning at 3:30pm. Music will be provided by Jugglin Jason. So, if you’re already on the water, bring your boat and head over to enjoy an island tradition!
“Tickets are still available, so don’t miss the action: www.SailGP.com.”
Will there be any dedicated ferries leaving from Hamilton?
