Photos & Videos: 2022 Relay For Life Event
After a two-year virtual hiatus due to the pandemic, the Relay For Life event was held at the Bermuda National Sports Centre this weekend, with the event designed to see the “community come together to honour, celebrate, and raise funds and awareness in an effort to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer.”
A spokesperson previously explained, “Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers are encouraged to join the celebration. As the survivors walk, participating teams and the general public will cheer them on in a demonstration of support and celebration. At the half way mark, the survivor’s carers meet them on the track and conclude the opening laps along their side.
“Relay For Life of Bermuda is a community event where teams and the community come together to honour, celebrate, and raise funds and awareness in an effort to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. Of the money raised, 97% remains in Bermuda to support Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Equal Access Fund and 3% will help the American Cancer Society fund global cancer control initiatives in prevention, treatment and patient support that will help protect future generations.”

Wonderful. This MUST continue on. What an absolutely POSITIVE way to hail those who have passed from cancer AND to hail those who remain.
