Governor Welcomes ‘Eco Club’ Students
The Governor welcomed “School Garden & Eco Club” students from Victor Scott Primary and Dellwood Middle Schools to celebrate their gardening success for the 2021-2022 school year.
In an online post, the Government House said, “Yesterday evening, the Governor and Mr Jacob Hawkins welcomed “School Garden & Eco Club” students from Victor Scott Primary and Dellwood Middle Schools to celebrate their gardening success for the 2021-2022 school year.
“Over the course of the school year, the students learned the primary tenets of gardening and gained an understanding of agricultural sustainability. The menu for the BBQ featured corn, onions, potatoes, kale, and bananas, all planted, grown, and harvested from the Government House gardens.
“The Governor complimented all those present and wished the programme well for an even better growing season next school year, emphasizing we can all improve food security with community growing and sharing programmes such as these.”
