Snooker Pair Make Finals, Fedden Wins In Dublin
The Bermuda Snooker Association sent a two man team to Dublin to represent Bermuda at the International Snooker League, comprising Sandy’s Boat Club One’s Paul Fedden & Spanish Point Boat Club Two’s Tyler Moniz.
The team’s 3rd player, Paul Sammin was graciously loaned to Bermuda from the Stephen’s Green Club in Dublin, the host venue, due to one of the regular Bermudian International players being unable to make the trip.
Despite this, Bermuda performed impressively, making it to the final, only to be beaten 2-1 by the Irish team from the Hibernian Club.
Fedden claimed victory for Bermuda in the Singles Scratch event for the top 12 ranked players, with an impressive performance when he came back from 2-0 down to beat New York’s Ian O’Mahony 3-2 and take the prestigious Singles Scratch Title, the 1st Bermudian player to do so in the 50 year history of the tournament.
