PGA Golf Event To Be Stand-Alone In 2022

The Butterfield Bermuda Championship –  which will be held at the Port Royal Golf Course in October –  will be a stand-alone event again in 2022, with the organisers noting they ”welcome the adjustments and additional international exposure that this brings. ”

A spokesperson said, “Following this week’s announcement related to the cancellation of the WGC-HSBC Champions by PGA TOUR Vice President, International, Christian Hardy, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship was announced as a stand-alone event once again for 2022. The tournament returns to Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda, the week of October 24-30.”

Danielle Baiunco, Tournament Director of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, said, “We are excited the Butterfield Bermuda Championship will be played as a stand-alone event this year and we welcome the adjustments and additional international exposure that this brings. The confirmed dates also make it easier for players to travel to and from Bermuda as a part of the revised tour schedule.

“We look forward to hosting a world-class event in Bermuda for PGA Tour members and local professionals with an ability to welcome an increased number of spectators. As with all PGA Tour events, maximizing charitable giving and having a positive impact on the wider community remains a key focus for this year.”

A spokesperson added, “General Admission tickets will go on sale starting September 12 and spectators can purchase tickets online [while quantities last] through the tournament website at butterfieldbdachampionship.com.

“Gates are open to the public Thursday, October 27 to Sunday, October 30; daily general admission tickets will be available online only for $35. Individuals may also choose to upgrade their general admission ticket to the Digicel Business Ocean Club for $250 per day, which provides access to the shared hospitality space and all-inclusive food and beverage.

“We encourage families to join us on Saturday, October 29 for Family Day presented by Butterfield, on this day, youth 15 and under will be admitted free with a ticketed adult. Additional daily events and activities will be shared at a later date. Limited hospitality packages remain available, companies interested in purchasing upgraded and private access should act quickly.
