Photos: Premier Burt Meets With ABIR Interns
Premier David Burt met with the Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers summer interns, noting that they increased the number of interns from 23 last year to 58 students this year.
Premier Burt posted the photos below on Instagram and said, “Met with the Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers’ newest summer interns. ABIR has answered the call from @bermudagovernment to provide more jobs for Bermudians by increasing its number of interns from 23 last year to 58 students this year.
“I am excited to see more of our young people being given the opportunities they deserve and the support they need to learn and develop as professionals.
“As international business continues to grow, it is vital to the Government that Bermudians are given the chance to advance their careers. We thank ABIR for its commitment to creating jobs and investing in our young people.
“Well done to all 58 students who are embarking on this new phase of their careers. I wish all of them continued success as they take on new challenges and learn new skills. I hope that the experiences they have throughout the summer and the nurturing relationships they will establish will lead to fulfilling careers in the years to come.
“And congratulations to Kallan Richardson and Miguel Simas, who were awarded scholarships to attend St. John University’s Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management Insurance and Actuarial Science in New York, becoming the first ABIR scholars. I wish both of them all the best in the next chapter of their education.”
