Interested In Serving On A Statutory Board?
Governor Rena Lalgie announced that she will be “encouraging members of the public to submit expressions of interest for future appointments to various statutory boards which fall under her remit.”
A Government House spokesperson said, “Her Excellency the Governor has today announced that she will be encouraging members of the public to submit expressions of interest for future appointments to various statutory boards which fall under her remit.
“Membership requirements vary by Board and are determined in accordance with the Constitution or originating legislation. Further information will be announced in due course. Expressions of interest, in most instances on a rolling basis, will be held by Government House and will be considered as and when vacancies arise.”
The Governor said: “I am committed to ensuring an open and fair process for appointments to the statutory bodies for which I am responsible. The work of these Boards is vital to good governance and I would encourage those who believe they possess the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to make an effective contribution to the work of the Boards to submit an expression of interest.”
If only the requirements to be an MP were based on the same criteria.
