Road Advisory: Trench Work In Southampton

The Ministry of Public Works advised that BELCO will continue with weekend works on Middle Road in Southampton starting Saturday [Aug 20] through Sunday, August 28.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that BELCO will continue with weekend works on Middle Road in Southampton. In order to crossover from Middle Road eastbound bus layby to Lighthouse Road and Princess Road, Lighthouse Road will need to be closed at the junction to all traffic. Princess Road and Middle Road will have a one lane closure.

“This work is to commence the weekend of Saturday, August 20th, 2022 through Sunday, August 28th, 2022. Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

“Traffic controls will be under direction of Intelligent Excavating & Landscaping representatives and will be managed via traffic control barricades and signage.

“Access to Lighthouse Road via Middle Road cannot be granted to residents nor emergency vehicles.

“Detour routes will be via South Road & St. Anne’s Road to enter Lighthouse Road.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
