Christopher Named Offensive Player Of Week
After her spectacular showing where she set a new school record by scoring five goals in one game, Bermudian footballer Nia Christopher has earned the Colonial Athletic Association [CAA] Offensive Player of the Week award.
The CAA noted, “Christopher erupted for five goals on five shots in Towson’s 7-0 Tuesday win over Delaware State. The five goals were the most in Towson history, two more than any other player nationally this season, and one shy of the CAA record set in 1996.”
The school’s announcement said, “Towson women’s soccer junior forward Nia Christopher was named Colonial Athletic Association [CAA] Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
“Christopher earned the award after a strong week that included a five-goal game against Delaware State last Tuesday. It is the first weekly award for Christopher this season and second of her career.
“The Bermuda native had a single-game record five goals against Delaware State on September 13. Her performance moved her into sixth all-time in career goals with 22. Christopher is third in the nation in total goals with eight and second in total points with 18.”
