Deadline Set For Harvey Cooper Art Contest
The Harvey Cooper Award Student Competition announced its deadline for the annual inter-school art competition this year, with students invited to enter by November 28th.
A spokesperson said, “The Harvey Cooper Award is an island-wide inter-school art competition for students aged 12 to 19 with prize money ranging from $100 to $1,000. All artwork will also be for sale. Four judge panel and online public voting. Details at harveycooperaward.com
“The theme for 2022 is ‘I Think I See A Pattern Here.’ Show the viewer a pattern in nature, a pattern of behaviour, a recurring series of actions or any repetition that you see in the world around you.
“The art teacher will choose the best three students to represent their school. If you are a school that has middle and high school students at your school, then you will have a fourth reserved place and fifth reserved place available. This is reserved for M2 and M3 students only [one of each].
“Artwork will be from sizes 11 x 14 inches to 24 x 36 inches. The deadline for submission to teachers is Monday, November 28th.
“Artwork will be displayed at a pop up art gallery on Front Street from Monday, December 5th, 2022 to Saturday, January 14th, 2023.
“Online voting and judging will take place between Monday, December 5th and Wednesday, December 14th.
“All artwork will be for sale. Winners will be announced via Zoom meeting on Thursday, December 15th. Please see harveycooperaward.com for details.”
