Mid Ocean Club Achieves IIP Gold Standard

October 24, 2022

The Mid Ocean Club has again achieved “Gold” level accreditation standard and has been nominated for three awards by Investors in People [IIP], a global organization that advises and conducts assessments of employers using IIP’s “we invest in people” framework, focusing on areas of employee engagement, communication, organizational culture and work practices.

A spokesperson said, “Over the last 30 years, IIP has accredited more than 50,000 organizations across 66 countries, making it the global benchmark for recognizing and rating organizations across multiple areas of people management.

“The Investors in People assessment framework provides a clear benchmark against the very best performing companies in their respective fields, by conducting in-depth employee interviews and evaluating key indicators of people and organizational performance. These inputs are combined to not only ‘score’ performance, but also to drive organizational improvement into the future. Once assessed, organizations are awarded with Standard, Silver, Gold, or Platinum accreditations.

“In May 2022, The Mid Ocean Club was proudly reaccredited by IIP to “Gold”, a level achieved by only 15% of accredited organizations globally, and positions Mid Ocean to be considered for “Platinum” at the next review period, a standard held by only 1% of organizations globally.

“Each year, a select few organizations and individuals are shortlisted, from hundreds of organizations globally that are evaluated by IIP, to be nominated for accolades called the “Investors in People Awards.” These awards identify and celebrate the very best organizations and individuals from around the world, across various organizational, people, wellbeing, and leadership categories.

“2022 represents a record-breaking year for the IIP awards process with over three hundred organizations involved from around the world and The Mid Ocean Club being one of only 17 of those organizations that have been nominated for 3 or more awards.

“The Mid Ocean Club is a finalist in three categories in The Investor in People Awards 2022:

  • “The Award for Overseas Employer of the Year: Gold – The Mid Ocean Club;
  • “The Award for HR Person of the Year – Vanessa Robinson, Human Resources Manager;
  • “The Award for Young Person of the Year – Dimitri Frias, Assistant General Manager In-Training.

Austen Gravestock, General Manager, said, “For Mid Ocean Club to be shortlisted three times in this year’s awards is an amazing feat, something that our entire team can take great pride in. It is a testimony to our focus and dedication to the shared vision we have for our wonderful Club to truly invest in our people.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, commented: “In what has been the biggest and most competitive year so far, it always makes me feel immensely proud to see so many fantastic organizations and individuals staking their claim to be the best. Reaching the final shortlist is a testament to the amazing commitment these organizations are making to make work better for their people, and they truly deserve this recognition.”

The winners will be announced at a black-tie gala ceremony on November 15th at Old Billingsgate in London. For the full shortlist and more information about Investors in People please visit www.investorsinpeople.com/awards-2022/.
