Photos: Bermudians Qualify For Golf Event
Bermudian golfers Michael Sims, Jarryd Dillas and Nicholas Jones have qualified for the 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
A spokesperson said, “They will now prepare to compete in Bermuda’s PGA TOUR event at Port Royal Golf Course, October 27-30.
“The 36-hole Local Qualifier concluded at Port Royal Golf Course with Michael Sims, Jarryd Dillas and Nicholas Jones at the top of the leaderboard.
“Michael Sims will make his fourth consecutive appearance in the field, making him the only Bermudian to qualify for the Championship every year since its inception in 2019.
“Sims finished with a score of 146 [+4] to claim the top spot by 2 shots. Nicholas Jones and Jarryd Dillas finished T2, shooting 148 [+6]. Nicholas will make his debut appearance on the PGA TOUR, while Jarryd will make his second PGA TOUR appearance since 2019. The three qualifiers will be joined in the field by fellow Bermudian Kim Swan, who was granted the first sponsor exemption into this year’s tournament.

“Tickets for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship are available via the tournament website. General admission tickets retail at $35. The public is encouraged to act quickly as tickets will sell out in advance.
“The Butterfield Bermuda Championship will implement the PGA TOUR’s Junior Initiative this year. All youth, 15 years and under, are admitted into the tournament for free with a ticketed adult. This does not include entry into hospitality venues; all spectators hoping to visit the hospitality spaces must hold a paid ticket.”
