PLP: ‘Candidates Sent Questions At Same Time’

October 13, 2022

Noting some “concerns surrounding some of the questions at the Deputy Leader’s Debate,” the PLP said that “MP Ming and Deputy Leader Roban were sent the exact same questions at the exact same time” and “both candidates were treated exactly the same.”

A spokesperson said, “Following concerns surrounding some of the questions at the Deputy Leader’s Debate, the Party would like to issue the following clarifying statement: MP Ming and Deputy Leader Roban were sent the exact same questions at the exact same time.

“The moderator confirmed that he modified some of the questions without either candidates’ advance knowledge. Both candidates were treated exactly the same,” the statement concluded.

The debate, held last night [Oct 12], was for party members only, however from what we were able to ascertain via unofficial channels, Ms Ming said she had not received two questions.

During the initial portion of the debate, Ms Ming apparently said that two of the questions were not questions she received, and the moderator apparently said they sent the questions where they were supposed to, and then noted that the next set of questions had not been seen by anyone.

The PLP will hold another debate on Saturday, which will see current PLP Leader David Burt debate Curtis Dickinson, and the party delegates will vote on the Deputy Leader and Leader positions next week.

We need to make a public statement about a private debate, guarded in secrecy about delegates and debate logistics!

    Too funny.

Agreed. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it’s a DUCK!

They intended to make MP Ming look bad. BUT SHE rose to the occasion, in spite of. This was no error. The debate organizer should have known better.
