“The BEDC launched the Rocket Pitch competition in 2008 as part of the inaugural Global Entrepreneurship Week [GEW]. The business plan competition has become a signature event in November and creates an opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs to submit a plan to launch a business to help serve both local and global challenges. Participants have 5 minutes to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and then respond to questions.

“Since its start, 15 years ago the Rocket Pitch Competition has helped to launch or expand over 80 businesses. This year the competition was sponsored by Bacardi, Arch Reinsurance, the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Horizon Communications, the Economic Development Department, and BEDC.
