PHC Zebras, Rangers & Paget Lions Win
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with the PHC Zebras, Southampton Rangers, and Paget Lions all earning wins.
Premier Division
St. George’s Colts 2 – PHC Zebras 3
The PHC Zebras traveled to the Wellington Oval and defeated the St. George’s Colts 3 – 2, the PHC Zebras held a comfortable 3 – 0 lead at one point, but two late goals for the St. George’s Colts forced the PHC Zebras to hang on for the win.
Kadeem Abraham gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 7th minute, six minutes later it was 2 – 0 when Abraham scored again, and the PHC Zebras would take that lead to the break.
Abraham completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute to extend the PHC Zebras’ lead to 3 – 0, however the St. George’s Colts would get a goal in the 87th minute from Malachi Trott to make it 3 – 1, and then Kieshon Wilson scored in the first minute of stoppage time to pull the St. George’s Colts within one, but they could not find the equalizer.
Somerset Trojans 3 – Dandy Town Hornets 3
At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Somerset Trojans and the Dandy Town Hornets played to a 3 – 3 draw.
First Division
Southampton Rangers 6 – Somerset Eagles 0
At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers jumped out to a 6 – 0 first-half lead in their 7 – 4 win over the Somerset Eagles.
The Southampton Rangers got a first-half hat-trick from Dominique Hill, Isaiah Taylor scored twice, and Jahni Bean added the other for the halftime lead.
In the second half, the Southampton Rangers went ahead 7 – 0 through an own goal, but the Somerset Eagles would fight back with two goals from Dane Simmons, and single strikes from Ethan Fubler, and Makal Robinson.
Paget Lions 4 – Devonshire Colts 1
At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Paget Lions defeated the Devonshire Colts 4 – 1.
The Paget Lions took a 1 – 0 lead in the 19th minute when Antwan Russel scored, Shakir Smith doubled the lead in the 35th minute as the Paget Lions took the 2 – 0 lead to the break.
Dion Stovell made it 3 – 0 to the Paget Lions in the 57th minute, but one minute later the Devonshire Colts pulled a goal back when Daniel Ball scored, and Russell would add his second goal of the game and his team’s fourth in their win.
