Seniors To Receive Garden Boxes From Rotary
The Hamilton Rotary Interact Club, sponsored by both Hamilton and St. George’s Rotary Clubs, will present ten Raised Bed Garden Boxes to seniors at Heydon Trust Seniors Apts. today [Nov 30] as part of their Intergenerational Horticultural Programme designed to bring seniors and youth together in a novel Horticultural Initiative.
A spokesperson said, “The garden boxes will be accompanied with soil and leafy green vegetable seedlings and herbs. The project was initiated by the Hamilton Rotary Interact Club which has a membership of 30 students from public, private and home schools. They range in age from 12 to 17.
“Mr. Sinclair was recently inducted into the Sandy’s Rotary Rotaract Club, which is designated for youth from 18 years old to early thirties.
“The Hon Tinee Furbert, JP, MP, Minister of Social Development and Seniors will be at the presentation.”
