Dashun Cooper has started the next chapter in his football coaching career after joining Premier League side Crystal Palace as a goalkeeper coach at their Development Centre.
Cooper, 29, will work with goalkeepers aged 9 to 13 at the Development Centre, based at Kent County Cricket Club and Coombe Wood School in Croydon, London. The Development Centre is part of Palace’s Player Pathway, which feeds into the club’s Academy.
Cooper recently completed his Uefa Goalkeeper B Licence course, which helps successful candidates acclimatise to the demands of the semi-professional and professional game. The badge is mandatory to work full-time at pro clubs.
The former BAA and X-Roads goalkeeper has plenty of experience coaching in England as head of goalkeeping at English semi-professional side Hartley Wintney, who play in the Southern League Premier Division South, the seventh tier of the English football pyramid.
He has also served as Head of Goalkeeping at the International Development Academy in Reading, Berkshire, working with 15 to 23-year-olds.
