People with physical and intellectual disabilities from local schools and organisations will compete in the Invitational Games at the Dame Flora Duffy Stadium tomorrow [December 15].
Organised by Special Olympics Bermuda, the Games are open for those from middle-school age and above and consist of track and field events such as the 25-metre dash and walk, independent and assisted wheelchair events and relays. There is no registration or entry fee.
The Games, which run from 9 am to 2 pm, will help prepare local athletes for the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin next summer.
Bermuda competed at the previous World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and the United States last summer. They won eight medals in Abu Dhabi and four in the US.
